Have you bought your Elf on the Shelf yet? http://www.elfontheshelf.com/
If not, you should. The kids LOVE it. Not even just a little bit, like a lot, a lot. Each night the elf flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa on how well the kids behaved. (this is a great bribing tool as well:)). Then he lands in a different spot the next morning...magically. The kids love to find where he lands each day. The kids get to name the elf and our kids named ours Trickster. It has been such a fun tradition introduced to us by a friend. Love it! Here is more info from when we did it last year: Check out Our elf, Trickster
The elf flies back to the north pole on Christmas Eve to help Santa and returns every year the day after Thanksgiving. The kids can't wait!
