We saw Obama

Yes, as in the President of the United States. He drove by our church 2 Sundays ago. We know because we were blockaded into the parking lot for half an hour because of it. Quite a unique experience. We stood on the road while policemen came by and made sure we were standing at least 10 feet away from the street. We watched the presidential motorcade pass right on by, sniper rifles and all. Check out the video David took--

Halloween Party

I was in charge of the Halloween preschool and party. It was a lot of fun. Ashlyn wasn't there because she had a b-day party to go to at the same time. Here are some pictures of the day.

This is what we did:
*decorated masquerade masks
*acted out nursery rhymes
*played pin the nose on the pumpkin
*listened to spooky Halloween music
*Played in the Haunted mansion my kids made out of a cardboard box
*connect the dot scarecrow
*orange playdough and Halloween cookie cutters
*Scavenger hunt for the pumpkins around the house with numbers on them--count to #16
*ate "mummy" Little Smokey's and cupcakes and fruit kabobs

The Art Museum

Dave got off early from work so we took the kids to the Art Museum. The kids were so excited to spend time with their dad. Trevor even said it was the best day in his whole entire life. :) They LOVED the Art Museum and we can't wait to go back. Here are their favorite rooms

Eddy's Apple Farm--preschool field trip

Field Trip with Trevor to the Planetarium

I love to go on the school Field trips with my kids. So fun to see them interact with their friends and learn new things.

Children's Museum

October 2010
Had a fun day with friends at the museum

Learning Garden

I'm in charge of the Learning Garden for Trevor's class at school. Basically, I take the kids who have signed up for learning garden out to the School garden once a week during school and teach them how to garden (garden...I just wanted to throw that word in there one more time). It is really SO fun! My friend Diana helps me. This is a picture of the kids planting their mums. I taught them about weeds and how to tell the difference between weeds and plants and then we made the plot ready for planting and planted mums.

This is what our plot looked like before:

Dave's trip to Chicago

October 2010
So, Dave went to a conference in Chicago for Oral Surgery and while he was there he was completely pampered and went to all the fancy restaurants while we stayed home and dined on chicken and rice.:) We still managed to have some fun...
We made bracelets

Had friends over and made things out of cardboard boxes

We made this one into a haunted mansion

The kids had a fun time making it spooky

They ended up painting it black to make it super spooky and decorating the windows with glitter. Finished product picture coming soon

Here is Dave and his chiefs taking a limo to dinner:

General Conference October 2010

Traditions:
*We watch or listen to all 4 sessions (5 including Priestood session)
*We always take the kids to watch one General Conference session block at the Kirtland Stake Center and visit the Kirtland Historic sites afterward. This year it was raining.
*Went to the Loveless's for their delicious annual cinnamon breakfast
*Get together with Friends for dinner

One of the many times we visited Patterson Farm

We LOVE this pumpkin patch and go several times each year. It is THE BEST!
