Corbin's real first day of school

This was Corbin's first day of school. It was a half-day. He was SO EXCITED!!
On the bus...
Arriving at school...
Getting off the bus... (ok I'm pretty ridiculous following him step-by-step, but what can I say, I love this kid)
Finding out where to go....

I love him!
Mrs. B and Corbin...
Coming home from school
The principal even walks each kid off the bus.  It is so nice.
Side walk chalk sign for Corbin...

He was so excited about the sign...and the candy.  Trevor and Ashlyn made it for him.

Annual 1st day of school sign

Corbin would NEVER in a million years let me forget this tradition.  He gets SO EXCITED.  Every day for the whole week before school started, that is all he could talk about.  I'm not going to lie, I'm sure it has everything to do with the candy we put on the sign.  While the older kids were at school, Corbin and I made this poster and stuck in on the window for when the kids arrived home from school.

Here they are at the bus stop:  (I think Trevor seriously hates this day because of all the pictures:))

Ashlyn and Trevor (and now Corbin) sit all together on the bus.  So cute!
I always let them ride the bus to school and then meet them at school on the first day.  Here they are getting off the bus...
 Saying bye, with Daniel!
Ashlyn, with her 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Bates.  We LOVE her!!
While the 2 older kids started school, Corbin had his orientation day.  The kindergarteners go to a 2 hour orientation meeting and then go to 3 days of half day Kindergarten.  Then the next week they start full day.  It is so crazy that Kindergarten is full day here!!  This is Corbin with his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. B.  We LOVE her too!!
Corbin hanging out with a new friend from class at orientation.
The sign that Corbin and I made...we stuck it to the front window!
I love how the candy is for the older kids, but Corbin is the first to dig in! Ha!  He is my candy fiend.

1st Day of School breakfast feast

Any reason to throw a party, I take it...  (and this is not just because I'm excited for the kids to go back to school :))

Served: chocolate chip pancakes and homemade applesauce

"The week before school starts TEXTS"

 August 27 (I think)
The Principal sends out teacher announcements the week before school starts.  This is a BIG day.  I'm not exaggerating.  Everyone wants to know who everyone got for a teacher....commence texting.  All day long we text each other trying to see who's mail came first and then decoding which kids are in who's class.  It is so much fun.  I kind of love it...especially if I like the teachers my kids get.

Another outdoor concert at Legacy Village

I cannot get enough of this activity.
There is something about live music and being outside.
I could listen all day long.  Maybe it takes me back to my college days at the
Y where we had almost nightly entertainment during the summer,
by the millions of guys that played guitar and sang out on their front lawns and at BYU events.  Ok, and me liking these concerts may also have something to do with getting Caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory every time we go.  So good.
The kids showing off their sweet moves!

Pond and fishing

We went to the pond next to the Art Museum to feed the ducks...
And then headed over to a nearby pond to do some fishing.
Trevor putting the bait on the hook
The kids trying to catch fish in a pond
that the city stocked full of fish for kids
Trevor caught the smallest fish of all times
And they all were SO excited. :)
Thanks Cicely for the fun idea.  The kids had a blast!
