Book of the Week
INHERITANCE
(June 4, 2012)
This was the fourth and final book in the Eragon series. And I liked it. The third book was probably my favorite. I loved Roran's character and storyline. I liked that good conquered evil. It felt like the author threw in a bunch of answers to questions he started earlier in the series at the very end of the book just to tie up loose ends.
I liked this book but didn't like everything about it. I liked the storyline between Malcolm and Rain. I think the horrible thing that was uncovered by the letters was a little unbelievable and how quickly all was forgiven was equally unbelievable. I would have loved this story more if the focus was just Malcom and Rain. It felt like the author couldn't figure out the focus of the book.
OUTLIERS
(June 18, 2012)
I really enjoyed this book. I think everyone should read it.
More birthday celebrations
Corbin's 5th birthday fell on the Sunday before Memorial day this year. After the morning festivities, we went to church, came home, made him a special dinner and ate ice cream cake.
The boys went to a friends house later for a camp out in their backyard.
Corbin was not happy that Trevor was trying to blow out his candles. :)

Corbin's birthday
Corbin's birthday breakfast included stertz, sausage, and raspberries (his favorite, along with blueberries) and the annual birthday cupcake.
He wanted to get to the presents right away!
Corbin turns 5!!!

We love our cute little boy. He is a total boy. Loves to play outside, ride scooters and bikes and jump on the trampoline. He is really into board and card games right now. He wastes me almost every time in Stratego and puts up a good fight in Chess. He will play the same game over and over. His favorites are Book of Mormon Battles, Stratego and Pokemon. He loves the Wii and DS. He loves to collect Pokemon cards and trade them with friends. His favorite treats are "broccoli" and "peppers with ranch". No joke. He is a little shy...but will raise his hand and shout out all of the answers to a question in a classroom setting. He is still a mama's boy. He is a little afraid of the water...but likes it at the same time. He constantly wakes up in the middle of night needing to go to the bathroom but is so
asleep that he can't find it. It's pretty funny.
when I grow up I want to be: a person who makes games
favorite food: peppers dipped in ranch and pickles
favorite color: red and gold
favorite thing to do: playing with Trevor on the trampoline
favorite book: Chronicles of Narnia
Dave talks in his sleep...
Convo in the middle of the night last night:
Dave: The answer is 24.
Cathy: 24 what?
Dave: 24 milimeters
Cathy: Oh darn, I put 25!
Dave: Are you serious?!
Cathy: yep.
Dave: that is NOT good.
I can have full conversations with Dave while he is sleeping. It is great for retrieving information. :)

Amish--Rolling Ridge and Yoder Farm
This was my favorite day. I LOVE Rolling Ridge Farm. It is SO AWESOME. It is basically an African safari that the Amish people own. They give you huge buckets of food and the animals walk right up to you while you sit in a wagon and either eat out of your hand or out of your bucket. There are zebras and ostriches and buffalo and deer and zeedonks and so much more. There is also a petting zoo where you can feed dozens of goats and baby calves carrots.
You had to put your hands up to show the goats that you didn't have food or they would charge you!
My mom's favorite calf.
Amish playground.
A ride in an Amish wagon.
Cute, cute puppies. Ashlyn wanted so badly to take one home.
This was Trevor's favorite dog.
I think it is hilarious that the old Amish man is hiding behind Kaiden. It looks kinda creepy. But he was actually so sweet. He put all of the baby chicks on the kids shoulders and wanted to stay by them so they wouldn't fall...but he also didn't want his picture taken. He is hiding in every picture...Where's Waldo?!
