In the Faith of Christ

This is a post Dave started on our other trial blog...I thought it was cute...I think he wrote it in Feb. when it was freezing

Let's start with something warm.
It's obviously the dead of winter here in Cleveland and that's no way to start off a blog. Our intro will consist of the last few pictures taken before the long night of the Cleveland winter set in. I wish it were always like this around here.

This is me...in a tree fort. I'm still in school. There's a good chance that I always will be. I'm currently in my 2nd of 5 years of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. This year is like 3rd/4th year med school for me. I'm currently in an ER rotation that I'm really enjoying (and not just for the relaxed schedule). Mostly I'm excited for spring break in another week and that it's maple tapping season.

As you can see, I haven't grown up yet...but I'm not worried because my dad obviously hasn't either. It's not looking good for Trevor.

Dying Easter Eggs

Ashlyn turned 4 on March 20th

We did our usual breakfast in bed. Ashlyn wanted red heart pancakes and sausage...not a fan of eggs.

Sometimes I just have to remember moments like this so that I can feel ok about all the other moments that aren't quite so peaceful. :) Today he drew me a picture. It was a picture of me. I look like a big red blob and he told Trevor that it was a picture of me flying. It's hanging on our fridge.

Ashlyn

Lately she's been very interested in death. She keeps saying, "When we die we live with Jesus." Then she'll get worried that I am going to die and I try to explain to her that it won't happen for a long time, but we will be together with Jesus anyways. She gets all excited and says. "I get to live with Jesus?!!" This is honestly a weekly topic. One day this week she said, "Mom, Jesus is in our tummies, right?" I said, "No, actually He is in our heart, remember?" She said, "Oh that's right, He's inside us, so that means He's in our tummies too." :)

Welcome to our Blog!

After scripture and prayer tonight I tucked the kids in bed, brushed their teeth, gave them books to read and I was out. It was a long fun day of playing outside with friends and I was feeling the effects of it. Then I hear Trevor call out to me from his bedroom, "Mom, can you tuck me in? I want to sleep good tonight." So, I go over and start to tuck him in and tease him about how of course the only way he could get good sleep tonight is if the best mom in the world tucks him in. And he goes, "You really are the best. You and dad are the best parents." OH! I melted. I hugged him and gave him a big kiss and said thanks and he goes, "Can I have computer games tomorrow now?" :)
