Dave's work

Dave has been wanting to take the kids to show them where he works. So that's what we did! The kids LOVED it and Dave showed them all of the cool little things you can find in the hospital. Like this mobile...

And this huge gingerbread house...
(made with REAL gingerbread--more than 175 lbs of gingerbread! And 150 lbs of frosting! crazy!)

And this sweet meditation room...

And the view from his floor, with the fountain lit with red lights...

Christmas anxiety

Does anyone else get this? I'm feeling totally anxious
(not excited) about Christmas. Dave on the other hand is just like a little kid,
I swear he still believes in Santa. :)

So, I'm anxious because I want everything to turn out perfect and be as magical as I can imagine it in my mind for the kids. Also, I'm anxious because I just found out that I got Dave the wrong fountain pen. BUMMER!! He is particular about his fountain pens...hmmmm....

Gingerbread houses at the botanical gardens

The Botanical Garden has an annual gingerbread house competition. They are pretty amazing...

Then we went to the butterfly pavilion...

Library time

We went to the library and had an awesome music and dance time with a guest teacher. She was so great and the kids had so much fun. Then comes in playtime...and Corbin goes straight for the computer. Is he his father's son or what? In Corbin's defense, the games were pretty sweet.

The Christmas lunch box continued...

Remember this? This is how Corbin reacted:

Super excited to find PRESENTS in his lunch box!!

Figuring out that something appears to be amiss...I could just hear him thinking, "wait a minute these are not toys..."

Then the light bulb! Corbin said, "A juice box??!! You gave me a juice box?? Is this a trick?!" hahahahaha I laughed so hard.

Granted they were all new lunch items that they never usually get in their lunch box, so that makes it more cool, right? I'll have to tweak this a bit for next year. If done right, this has potential awesomeness. p.s. Ashlyn thought it was silly and Trevor really liked it! (I would've thought the opposite reaction from both of them).

The first day of snow

This happened a little while ago, but I just found my pictures. My scarf box exploded in my living room and I might have had something to do with it. Does anyone else's living room look like this on the very first day of snow of the school year. I kind of woke up in a panic knowing that putting the kids in their snow clothes would take an extra 20 minutes of morning time. I dumped out our box of scarves, gloves and hats and scrambled to get them dressed!
