Last Day of Learning Garden

We had our last day of the Learning Garden on Nov. 23. It was an outdoor party filled with cookies and activities. We decorated birdhouses that they took home and terracotta pots filled with tomato seeds that they could take home and start growing right before next spring. And of course we played a few outdoor games as well. Have I mentioned how great these kids are? They are.

KIrtland Temple Sacrament Meeting

We had a really amazing sacrament meeting at the Kirtland Temple in November. Our stake Patriarch spoke and the spirit was really strong. It was so neat to sing "The Spirit of God" for the closing hymn.

FHE

We did a fun Brother of Jared FHE. We made a tower out of all of our couch cushions. We taught the kids how to build the tower and in the middle of explaining it we started speaking different languages. Dave used his "go to" language--Bislama (which I love to hear!) and I used "dig" language. Try to decipher this: "Idiguy lidigkike thidigis stordigorydigy." Then we explained the story of the tower of babel. We had the kids then pack their back packs full of essentials to take in the wilderness. Dave became the cloud that the Lord spoke to them from and they followed it into the wilderness (around the house) until we came to the table to make barges out of play dough and crystals. The kids loved it! This idea was totally borrowed...and we loved it!

Coloring the snow

Corbin had his friend Parker over and they had a fun time coloring the snow with colored water. Try it. The kids will love it! Just fill up a water bottle (I use cake decorating bottles) with water and food coloring.

Our one day of snow

Yes, it only snowed for one day so we took advantage. First snowman of the year...

Yearly Leaf pile

Every year we rake our leaves into a big pile and the kids, of course, love to jump in it. Here are a few shots.... (it snowed the next day)

Halloween Day

For breakfast I made the kids pumpkin flavored and pumpkin shaped pancakes (chocolate chips for eyes and mouth) with orange milk. Good stuff!

We usually "boo" a few families every year (door bell ditch families with Halloween goodies) but this year we decided to bring home made bread and candy to a few widows in our Ward. The kids had a fun time making deliveries.

We went to a friends house for a game night instead of trick-or-treating. Ashlyn was kind of upset we didn't do the "real trick-or-treating" but we all had a great time playing games. I also made the kids dress up in their costumes again the next day to take one last round of pictures. :)
Here are a few....

Being silly...

This picture cracks me up! Love that Corbin's nose and mouth are squished onto his mask.
