This is Kirtland Play
Every summer our Stake puts on a play that is called This is Kirtland. It is about the church history in Kirtland. People from our stake audition for the play and ward members direct it and make costumes for it. Two people who were not members of the church were baptized during their involvement with this play this summer. I'd be happy to share their stories if anyone is interested! We took a day out of our summer to help mend costumes. The kids came with me. Claudia Harrington was the mastermind behind the costumes this year!

4th of July
We had a ward breakfast where the kids rode bikes and ate food and I decorated all the kids faces with face paint.

We got together with some friends for dinner...

We had our own fireworks show in the backyard that the kids enjoyed...

and they were really loud...

Then we went and watched the city's fireworks show.

Dave had the 5th of July off of work and we spent the entire day at the Lake...seriously I think we got back at 1 in the morning--it was SO FUN! Fairport Harbor had another fireworks show that we sat maybe 20 feet from. It was so cool.

Water Sports
I have an intense love for all things that involve water, so naturally I have to pass that on to my kids. I've mentioned in a previous post that the kids took a kayaking class and canoe class and I didn't get pictures of it, but they also took a jet skiing class. It was such a fun summer on the lake! Here is a group shot from one of their classes.
Summertime (I have some catching up to do)
Another thing we did this summer was go to the free day at the Natural History Museum. My kids love that museum. They love to climb on the dinosaur outside, they love to stand on the earthquake zone. They love to look in the Planetarium. Here are some pics from the summer...

They loved watching the animal show and even got to pet one of the animals!

Can't forget Father's Day 2010
I'm taking the time now to post pictures that I failed to before. One of those posts include the cute pictures we took on Father's day. So, pretty much the kids adore Dave. It's a fact. I've come to terms with the fact that once the kids hit age 4 mom is no longer cool and dad is the favorite. Here is the proof...
